Utopia? Or maybe we should slow down

The Islanders are playing the best they have in a long time. Scoring depth has been at an all-time high. I see Palmari connecting again; he has taken his game to a new level. I have to mention the man General Lee. The general is the hardest working member of the team right now. His garbage mentality makes him a dangerous power forward. Lee has an uncanny ability to grab a lost puck and put it in the net.

Brock Nelson has been excellent this season. He has one of the most underrated wristers in the league. If he continues, he will easily be a 30-goal scorer. Nelson has done everything he has been asked to do.

I asked Paul Kreischer's opinion on the New York Islanders' success.

Randy:

Paul, what is the key ingredient to the Isles' success this season?

Paul:

When the defense scores 2 points or more in a game, the Isles remain undefeated.

The Islanders have an excellent defensive corps. There is more here than just the standout Dobson, who is a top defender. Ex-Hab Romonaov is a very good rushing dman in his own right. Pulock has a Howitzer at the point.

So there you have it. I thought it was in the forwards, but my friend Paul says not so fast; it's all in the defense. In reality, we are probably both right.

Staying with Paul—he recently tweeted to Joe Panattieri: "Hearing the #StlBlues want to shake things up. I wonder if it's time for them to reopen that line and have a chat with the #Isles"

We all know that player that the Isles would love to get from the Blues. Tarsanko would be a perfect power forward to fit with Barzal.
